"There's no way to rule innocent
men. The only power any government has
is the power to crack down on criminals.
Well, when there aren't enough
criminals, one makes them. One declares
so many things to be a crime
that it becomes impossible to live
without breaking laws."
Ayn Rand, "Atlas Shrugged"
As you can see, I am a Libertarian.
I had been a Republican for years. Halfway through the first Bush
Administration, way back in the 80's, I realized I could no longer,
in good conscience, support the Republican agenda. I couldn't
stand the thought of being a Democrat, I guess my heart just doesn't
bleed enough. So, for a few months, I was politically homeless.
One night I was flipping through
the channels on TV, and I happened to flip on C-Span. They were
broadcasting the Libertarian Party's national convention. I couldn't
believe what I heard these speakers talking about! The things
they were saying were the same things I had been saying for years.
I called the 1-800 number listed on the screen, and a few weeks
later, I got my information packet in the mail. I have been involved
in the party ever since.
I am the Communications Coordinator
for the Libertarian Party of Massachusetts.I
have run for State Representative for the Massachusetts 30th Middlesex
District in 1996, 1998, and 2000.
The Libertarian Party is founded
on two basic principles. The first is; No individual, group, or
government has the right to initiate force against any other individual,
group, or government. The second is; As long as you are not violating
the rights of others, you have the right to live your life as
you see fit, without government interference.
The Libertarian Party is the political
party that will lead this country into the 21st Century. For more
