I was raised strict Eastern Orthodox Christian. I grew up very involved in the church. I was an altar boy, sang in the church choir, and attended Sunday school. At the age of 10, I had some questions regarding what I had read in the Bible. After receiving unsatisfactory answers from my Sunday school teacher, and parish priest, I began to have serious doubts regarding my faith in Christianity.

This doubt continued through my teenage years. I had long since stopped attending regular church services. By the time I reached 17 years of age, I had read the Bible through, from cover to cover, twice. Over the years, I became somewhat of a student of religion. I have read the Christian Bible (3 times, I am on my 4th, only this time, I'm making notes), The Koran, The Satanic Bible, The Satanic Rituals, and The Necronomicron. None of these texts ignited the flame of faith in my soul.

I was in my mid twenties when, for Christmas, my mother sent me a book. The book was "Buckland's complete book of Witchcraft". I was surprised that she would send me such a book, but I eagerly read it. It was like coming home. The philosophy and belief system of Witchcraft fit me perfectly.

People have asked me why I became a Witch. I tell them that I call myself a "Witch" because the closest thing to my pre-existing belief system, in our day and age, is called Witchcraft, or Wicca. There are many things associated with Wicca that I don't particularly agree with, so I do not get involved in any organized practice. I've read dozens of so called Modern Witchcraft books, and they are all the same. It is all made up, there is nothing existing from the "Old Days" that is real. I could write a book on Witchcraft, and it would be just as valid as any of the hundreds now available on the market.

The basic philosophy of Witchcraft is identical to that of the Libertarian Party, the political party I am a member of. The philosophy is this: "An you harm none, do what you will". The use of the word "an" here is an archaic one, it means "and if".

The second part of the philosophy of Witchcraft is know as the "Rule of Three". That is, anything you do, comes back to you threefold. So if you intentionally hurt someone, other than in self defense, it will come back to you three times. Violence is only acceptable and proper in self defense.
